These are seven lightbulbs conceived of by a team of three Alessi-designers, and aren’t they wonderful? They actually make you want to remove any sort of casing present around a lamp socket if you’d use them. Less is more. That’s beautiful. They’re produced and sold by Foreverlamp, a company focusing on durable, energy efficient lamps.
The only catch is that they cost €42.50 (roughly $60,-).

Last night, I attended the graduate thesis exhibition for the School of the Art Institute’s Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Designed Objects, and Fashion. I reflected on the works on exhibition for Gapers Block. The exhibition, Where is Where, runs through June 25 at Sullivan Galleries (in the old Carson Pirie Scott building) at 33 South State, 7th floor.
EDIT: The above piece is by Valerie DeKeyser, Master of Design in Designed Objects 2011.
